[01] Tagma Access

Half off Plus and Pro for students who qualify.

If you are a high school or college student and you or your household receive a qualifying benefit, Tagma costs half as much. Prove it once with one redacted document, then confirm once a year that you're still a student.

Free to apply. You’ll create a free Tagma account first.

[02] The offer

The same plans, at half the price.

Plus

$15/ month

or $180 a year · standard price $30 a month

Pro

$50/ month

or $600 a year · standard price $100 a month

Prices are in USD and do not include sales tax. Same credits and storage as the standard plan. See Pricing for what each plan includes.

[03] Who qualifies

A student, or a household, that receives one of these.

Upload one current document for any one of them. It must show the student’s name, or a parent or guardian’s name for a household benefit, and that the benefit is current. A person at Tagma checks it against this list. A fabricated or altered document is fraud, and Tagma will end the access.

Free or reduced-price school meals

The school or district's eligibility letter, or a district portal page showing the student's own status. A notice that the whole school gets free meals doesn't count.

SNAP or TANF

A current approval or recertification notice, or a state benefits portal page showing active benefits.

Federal Pell Grant

The college's current financial aid award letter showing a Federal Pell Grant. A FAFSA summary alone isn't enough.

Section 8 or public housing assistance

A current housing authority letter, a Housing Choice Voucher, or a rent statement showing assistance. An active voucher counts even before it's used; a waitlist doesn't.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

A current Social Security benefit verification letter that shows SSI specifically.

[04] What to upload

One redacted document.

Leave visible

  • WhoThe student's nameOr a parent or guardian's name, for a household benefit.
  • WhatThe benefit, and who issued itOne of the five below, with the name of the school, district or agency that issued the document visible.
  • WhenThat it's currentA date, a benefit period or a school year, or a portal page or letter issued in the last 90 days.

Redact before you upload

  • Addresses
  • Benefit amounts
  • Account and case numbers
  • Social Security numbers
  • Household income
  • Anything else unrelated

How to redact it properly. Redact by exporting or printing to a new PDF, or by taking a screenshot, so the redacted text is really gone. A box drawn over text in a PDF can leave the text underneath.

Where to send it. Please upload here. Don't email documents, and don't send original ID. A person at Tagma reviews it. When they decide, we start deleting it right away and keep retrying until every stored copy is gone.

[05] How it works

Four steps, and you only do the proof once.

  1. 01

    Create a free Tagma account

Sign up, or sign in if you already have one. You apply while signed in, so your approval is tied to your account.

  2. 02

    Apply with one document

Pick the benefit and upload one redacted document (a PDF, JPEG or PNG, up to 10 MB and 10 pages). If you're under 18, your parent or guardian gets a private link and applies for you.

  3. 03

    A person reviews it

Someone at Tagma reviews your document, usually within 5 business days, and we email you the result. When they decide, we start deleting your document right away.

  4. 04

    Subscribe at half price

Once you're approved, choose Plus or Pro at the Tagma Access price. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian confirms the purchase, as with any Tagma purchase.

[06] Your document

Reviewed by a person, then deleted.

A person decides, not software

There is no automated eligibility decision, and no AI or text-recognition service reads your document.

Stored privately, then deleted

Your document goes to storage that's separate from everything else in Tagma. When a person decides, we start deleting your document right away and remove every stored copy. If anything fails, an automatic job retries every few minutes until it is gone. What we keep is a bare record: that you were approved, when, and through which school year.

Checked for viruses, nothing more

Uploads are checked automatically for viruses and unsupported content by a scanner we run ourselves. No outside company receives your file, and no one reads it for that.

Please upload it here

Don't email documents, and don't send original ID. Redact addresses, benefit amounts, account or case numbers, Social Security numbers and household income; leave your name, the benefit and the current dates visible.

The details are in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

[07] Questions

Questions about Tagma Access.

Do I need an account to apply?

Yes. Create a free account first (or sign in), then start your application from this page. If you choose Apply while signed out, you'll be asked to sign in or sign up, and you'll land on the application, not on the rest of the app.

What exactly do you need to see?

Three things: the student's name (or a parent or guardian's, for a household benefit), the benefit and who issued it, and that it's current. Redact everything else: addresses, benefit amounts, account or case numbers, Social Security numbers and household income.

Who can apply?

Students who are currently enrolled in high school or college in the United States, and who receive one of the benefits above or whose household does. A college student can qualify with their own Federal Pell Grant. The document can show the student's name, or a parent or guardian's name for a household benefit. Tagma Access isn't for coaches, teachers or other adults who aren't students. Students 18 and over apply for themselves; for a student under 18, a parent or guardian applies.

What do I get?

Plus or Pro at half the standard price, with the same monthly credits and storage as the standard plan. Tagma Access isn't available on Max or team plans, and it can't be combined with referral bonus credits you earn.

How long does it last?

You prove your situation once, with one document. After that, you keep the Tagma Access price while you stay subscribed and confirm each year that you're still a student. If you're approved before you subscribe, or your subscription lapses, Tagma Access stays on hold through the end of that school year (July 31) or for 30 days, whichever is later. After that you'd apply again.

I already pay the standard price. Can I switch?

Yes. After you're approved, switch from the application page. On an annual plan, we refund the difference for the time left on your plan. If your annual payment included sales tax, contact us and we'll switch it for you.

What if I'm not approved?

You'll get a plain reason, such as "the document doesn't show a current period," and you can apply again with an updated document. If we need something more, we'll ask, and you can send it without starting over.

What if a document is fake or edited?

The information and document you give must be true and unaltered. A fabricated or altered document is fraud, including one made or edited with AI, and Tagma will end the access if the information or document isn't genuine.

Do I need to confirm every year?

Yes, once a year, with one click and no new document. Each August 1, if you're still subscribed, we email you to confirm you're still a student for the new school year. If you're under 18, the email goes to your parent or guardian instead, since they manage your billing. If you were approved on or after June 1, your first check is the following August. If you confirm, nothing changes. If you're no longer a student, or we don't hear back within 30 days, your Tagma Access price ends at your next renewal and your plan continues at the standard price. The email tells you the exact date first.

What if my situation changes?

Nothing happens during the school year. Your eligibility is checked once a year, on August 1 (see the question above). If you've stopped being a student by then, say so when we ask, and you can keep your subscription at the standard price. If you cancel and come back later, the hold described above applies.

Is it available outside the United States?

Not yet. Tagma Access is for students in the United States.
